Seizures

What is a seizure ?

A seizure is defined as an uncontrollably high spike in electrical activity between brain cells, also known as neurons or nerve cells, which results in transient anomalies in behaviors, sensations, states of awareness, muscle tone or movements (stiffness, twitching, or limpness). Not all seizures are the same. The sort of animal experiencing a seizure will also determine its outcome. For instance, after a seizure, a rabbit will typically leap into the air and experience rigidity in their limbs, whereas birds will usually flap their wings in unison on the ground. Where during seizures, rats begin to twitch excessively and constrict or stiffen their limbs

If your pet is having a seizure secure the animal safely so that they can’t injure them selves and then go to your nearest exotic savvy vet as soon as possible as this can be deadly
